Jake Lewis is a Grassroots Associate with 270 Strategies. He previously served as Lead Policy Analyst for the Illinois Framework for Healthcare and Human Services. He also served as Field Director for Tammy Duckworth for Congress, as Senate Lead Organizer for We Are Wisconsin during the 2012 recall elections, and as a James H. Dunn Fellow under Illinois Governor Pat Quinn.
At the Framework, Jake worked with Illinois state officials to promote interoperability of IT systems across seven health and human services agencies with the goal of providing better, more efficient care for Illinois residents. With the Tammy Duckworth campaign, he managed a staff of three organizers and over 100 volunteers spread across three field offices. The field team conducted over 150,000 voter contacts as Duckworth defeated Tea Party favorite Joe Walsh in 2012 in one of the nation's highest profile races.
Jake holds a Masters Degree with Distinction in Political Science and Political Economy from the London School of Economics, and a B.A. in Government and American Studies from Cornell University in New York. He was raised in Evanston, Illinois and currently lives in Chicago. He enjoys 16-inch softball, bowling, and checking his place in the waiting list for Chicago Cubs season tickets (68,954).
