Martha Patzer is a Vice President with 270 Strategies, specializing in digital strategies, email programs, and online fundraising strategies. She served most recently as Email Director for the 2013 Presidential Inaugural Committee (PIC) and as Deputy Email Director for the 2012 Obama for America campaign. Business Insider recognized her in 2013 as one of the “50 Hottest People in Online Politics” citing her work as one of the “masterminds” behind the Obama campaign’s emails, “one of the most talked-about aspects of the campaign.”
As one of the top digital strategists for President Obama’s re-election effort, Martha helped lead the team of writers and email strategists who raised more than half a billion dollars online. During her time at OFA, she managed the email rapid response team and helped design and implement test plans and program optimization for email fundraising. For the first half of the campaign, Martha was the primary program manager for “Dinner with Barack” and “Dinner with Barack and Michelle” grassroots fundraising contests, overseeing everything from email schedule, winner selection and handling, to staging of the events.
Prior to joining the Obama campaign, Martha worked for Organizing for America, the League of Women Voters of the U.S., dozens of state and federal political clients at Kennedy Communications, the Women's Institute for a Secure Retirement, and as a writer and copy editor at the South Bend Tribune.
Martha hails from the birthplace of aviation – Dayton, Ohio – and graduated from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana. She currently lives in the Logan Square neighborhood of Chicago IL. Martha loves the Great Lakes, college basketball, biking around Chicago very slowly, and hanging out with her 1 year-old nephew.
